Deed to land on the north bank of the Hoosac River in the Town of Cambridge, Washington County, NY from Peter and Elizabeth Viele to William and Alida Groesbeck in 1796.

This indenture made the nineteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six between Peter Viele of Cambridge in the County of Washington and State of New York and Elizabeth his wife of the first part and William Groesbeck of the town, county, and state aforesaid and Alada his wife of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred pounds lawful money of said state and for diverse other good causes for the love, good will, and natural affection to him in hand paid by the said parties of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged have granted bargained sold remise released alien and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell remise release alien and confirm unto the said parties of the second aprt in his actual profession now being and to their heirs and assigns forever all that certain piece or parcel of land situate on the east side of Hudson's Twain and patent of Hosaick in the town and county aforesaid and layes on the northerly part of the easterly half of lot number forty nine of said patent bounded on the easterly side by lot number fifty of said patent northerly on Hosaick brook or river westerly on the division line made or mentioned to be made between Peter Viele and Francis Pryne and to extend southerly so far bounding on the before mentioned lines so far as that line running parallel with Hosaick River or brook where it runs adjoining this tract so as to contain one hundred and thirty four acres of land. It is to be remembered that the southerly line here mentioned to be parallel with the river is to be a straight line, the easterly and westerly lines or sides are to be of equal length from said river - - -.

As near as I can tell, this parcel of land would be somewhere along the north bank of the river west of the bridge at Buskirk. It would be somewhere along the two mile stretch of river before it loops down into Rensselaer County.
