LUNDY R BUTCHER
St. Williams - Lundy Richard Bucher, a well known and highly respected citizen of St. Williams, passed away on Tuesday evening at his home in his 79th years. he had been in failing health for the past years and in recent months was confined to his home.

He was born in south Walsingham, a son of the late David Butcher and Emily Pitman.  On September 16, 1891, he married Mary Jane Kinsley, daughter of Jacob Kinsley and Margaret Bear. They resided at Messiah Corners where the deceased farmed for a number of years. He was a salesman for sewing machines and washing machines until fifteen years ago when the family moved to the village. He was an adherent of Messiah Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Hildah at home, Mrs. J C Armstrong of Simcoe and Mrs. Ivan Hoskins of Avalon Park; two grandsons, Clifford Wingrove of Simcoe and Ross Wingrove of Brantford; one sister Mrs. Burlie Miller of Brantford; two brothers, George of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Walter of Embro; also three great-grandchildren.

     A brief service was held at the family residence on Friday afternoon at two o'clock to the Messiah Church at Messiah Corners with Mr. Floyd Kyte of Tillsonburg conducting the service. The New Canadian Reimer Quartette of the Mennonite Church sang two hymns. There were many beautiful floral tributes. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery. The pall bearers were Fred Chamberlain, Brock Fick, Audrey Rohrer, Carmel Coutryman, Albert Wood and Fred Curtis.

     Relatives and friends from a distance included Mr. and Mrs. Walter Butcher of Embro, Mr. and Mrs. Burlie Miller of Brantford, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heubach of Ayr, Stanton Heubach of Kitchener; Harold Butcher of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hester of Brantford; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Butcher of Embro; Mr. and Mrs. Percy Bennett and family of Innerkip; Norman Kaiser of Ayr; Mrs. Ward Marshall and Louis Kaiser of Roseville; Charles Lounsbury of Fruitland; Max Butcher of Orillia; Mr and Mrs. Bruce Butcher and daughter Marjorie of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Derwin Carter of Woodstock; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Butcher; Mrs. Harold Kyte and Mrs. Floyd Kyte of Tillsonburg; Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wingrove of Brantford and a large number of relatives and friends were also present from Walsingham, Port Rowan, Simcoe, London, St Thomas, Corinth and surrounding district.
