ERIE VIEW
Mr. E C South of St. Catharines is visiting Mr. and Mrs. William Hunter.
Mrs. C M Foster was home for a short time, returning to Simcoe on Sunday.
Mr. W Fox and Mr. W E Foster motored to Simcoe on Sunday to see Mr. C M Foster in Simcoe General Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. J H Anderson visited their daughter, Mrs. Clare Moulton of Clear Creek on Sunday.
Mrs. H Heibert was ill in bed a few days of last week.

Resident Dies
The death of H Myke occurred on Friday last (15 Jan 1937), which casts a gloom over this vicinity. He leaves a wife and three small children. Funeral was held on Monday.

Dr. E A Schilz Dies in Michigan 
Brother of Local Man Native of Woodhouse Township 
Mathias Schilz of Woodhouse has received word of the death on Monday of his brother, Dr. E A Schilz of Grand Ledge, Mich. The deceased who was in his 65th year, died suddenly following a heart attack. Born in Woodhouse, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Schilz, the late Dr. Schilz went  to Detroit when a young man, graduated in medicine and took up practice in Grand Ledge.
He is survived by his widow, one son, Carl of Lincoln IL and three brothers, Mathias of Woodhouse, Charles of Dunkirk and Peter of Grand Ledge MI.
Messrs Mathias and Charles Schilz left on Tuesday to attend the funeral which will be held from the deceased late residence.

DICKEY - In Simcoe, on Friday Feb 5, 1937, Charles Dickey of Detroit Mich in his 36th year.

GRAY - At St. Williams on Friday Feb 5, 1937, John G Gray, in his 84th year.

PRICE - At Port Rowan, on Friday April 2, 1937, Dayton Price in his 83rd year. 

DAYTON PRICE 
Port Rowan:
The death occurred here on Friday morning of Dayton Price in his 83rd year. He is survived by five sons: Clarence, Chatham, Charles, Brantford, Roy and Frank Pt Rowan and Fred, Toronto, along with three sisters Mrs. Bert Fry, and Misses Harriet and Hannah all of Pt. Rowan.

CLINE - In Norfolk General Hospital on Thursday May 13, 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cline (nee Doris Kelly) of Port Rowan, a son.

NORMAND - In Norfolk General Hospital on Thursday May 13, 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Normand of Simcoe, a son.

INNES - In Mount Hamilton Hospital on April 10, 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Patrick Innes of Hamilton, a son Derek Edward.

KENDALL - DICKSON 

A fragrant background of roses made a charming setting for a late June wedding yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock in St. Paul's Presbyterian church Simcoe,, when Miss Elizabeth (Betty) Dickson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dickson, 189 Norfolk Street south became the bride of Mr. William Kendall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy R Kendall, 242 Norfolk Street South, Simcoe. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Alexander R Ferguson, minister of St. Paul's. 
The bride was beautiful in her wedding gown of pale pink silk chiffon trimmed in pale blue with  blue flowers at the neckline. Her shoes and mittens were also of blue of the same shade and the bridal bouquet was composed of palest pink roses. A pink hat completed the costume matching the frock and a veil fell from it to the shoulders. Mr. Dickson gave his daughter in marriage. 
The bridesmaid was Miss Dorothy Forler of Simcoe and she wore a handsome gown  of pale blue sheer with pale pink accessories, her arm bouquet being of roses of a deeper pink shade.
Miss Isobel Cameron ATCM presided at the organ and as the bridal party entered played the Bridal Chorus form 'Lohengrin' The groomsman was Mr. Howard Montross, Norfolk Street S and the duties of usher were fulfuilled by Mr E E Tapp and Mr. Ian Cameron, both of Simcoe. During the signing of the register, Mr. Archie Cameron sang the wedding song, 'Because'.
The wedding reception was held at the Guest Home, twenty guests comprised of close relative and friends being present. The bride's table was beautiful with its covering of lace, centered with roses and four tall candles. The wedding cake found a place on the side table.
Mrs. Dickson, mother of the bride wore a Coronation blue sheer dress, trimmed in white and the accessories were also white. She was assisted in receiving by the groom's mother who was gowned in blue silk voile with white pattern and blue accessories.
Mrs. William Kendall donned a white Rajah silk dress fro traveling, its trimmings being of navy blue. Her coat was a handsome cut velvet model in white and bag and shoe were also white. Upon the return of  Mr. and Mrs. Kendall from their two weeks' wedding trip to the United States, they will take up residence near Vittoria.
The bride has been much entertained by her friends and has received many wedding gifts from neighbors, friends and relatives. Among the presents were numerous remembrances from relatives in Scotland.

GIRL HIT BY MOTOR DIES IN HOSPITAL
 

Simcoe July 24 - Verna Burk, 20 year old Charlotteville girl, died early today in Norfolk General Hospital here of injuries suffered when struck by a motor car while walking along the road near Walsh Station last night.
The girl was accompanied by Lily Stackhouse and Iva Casselton when a car in charge of Robert McCall, St. Williams, struck them. Miss Casselton, although tossed into the ditch, was not injured.
McCall told police he was blinded by the lights of an approaching car and did not  see the girls. Chief Coroner E W Zumstein of Delhi is in charge of the investigation.

 Port Rowan - On Saturday evening Oct 30th, at the Bay Cliff hotel a miscellaneous shower was given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rockefeller. About seventy-five friends were present. The evening was spent in dancing. The young couple received many beautiful and useful presents. Miss Margaret Rockefeller and Miss Frances Smith assisted the bride in opening her parcels. Mr. and Mrs. Rockefeller thanked their friends for all the lovely gifts they received. A very sumptuous lunch was served.

PITMAN'D CORNERS - Tuesday evening, the pupils of Rohorer School SS No. 4 under the direction of the teacher, Mrs. Betty Coulter, presented their annual Christmas concert before a large gathering of parents and friends. The Chairman of the evening was Mr. Brock Fick. The program included songs, recitations, and dialogues. At the close present were distributed from the beautifully decorated tree.

BOARD MEETING
A School Board meeting was held on Wednesday evening in connection with Plank Road School at the home of Mr. John Chamberlain. Mr. Charles Evans was Chairman. Mr. Strachan, Teacher, explained the books needed for the new course of studies now held in the school.

Mr and Mrs. Basil Howey visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howey, Straffordville over the  weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Paul Detroit, visited Mr.. and Mrs. J Armstrong over the Christmas holiday.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fick visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orval Campbell, St. Williams for the holiday.

Mr. and Mrs. Yorkley Chamberlain and family spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Cope, St. Williams.

FICK - CHAMBERLAIN
A quiet wedding was solemnized at First Houghton Baptist Parsonage, Christmas Day, at 2:30 pm when Jean Chamberlain, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Chamberlain, Pitman's Corners, was united in marriage to Harold Fick, only son of Mr. ad Mrs. Frank Fick, also of Pitman's Corners. Rev. T Taylor performed the ceremony. The birde looked lovely in blue crepe and was attended by Mrs. John McIntyre. Mr. John McIntyre was groomsman. Following a motor trip to Buffalo, the couple will reside in this community.

McINTYRE - ROCKYFELLOW
The marriage of Florence Rockyfellow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Rockyfellow, Rowan Mills, to John Edward McIntyre, son of Mrs. John Aspen  and the late Mr. Wilfred McIntyre, Pitman's Corners, took place in Tillsonburg, Thursday afternoon at the Baptist Parsonage. Rev. A Carr officiated at the marriage. The bridal couple left amid showers of confetti on a motor trip to Flint Michigan.

Mr and Mrs. Richard Howe and daughter Jean, Port Rowan, visited Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lounsbury, during the weekend.

Mr. Ainsley Bulmer, St,. Williams has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fick during the week.

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Elliott, Turkey Point are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pitman and family.
