Miss Nellie Brown Ends Life in St. Thomas
Leaving a letter addressed to her sister, Miss Nellie Brown, aged about 35 years, committed suicide in a room of the local YWCA, St. Thomas about seven o'clock Tuesday morning. A tiny vial, bearing the label of a London drug store and containing dust of the poison, which was found in the room, bore mute testimony to the deed. After making an investigation Coroner Dr. D L Ewin decided that an inquest is unnecessary and he permitted the remains to be moved to the undertaking establishment of P R Williams and Son. The unfortunate woman is believed to have been a victim of melancholy. She is said to have been quite deaf and her affliction may have had some bearing on her act.
The late Miss Brown was a daughter of Mr. George O Brown of Port Stanley and sister and niece respectively of Miss Dolly and Mrs. Nora Brown of Port Rowan. The remains will be taken to the home of her aunt, Mrs. Michener, Rowan Mills and interment will take place in the Clear Creek Cemetery. The deceased young woman was well known and highly respected in Port Rowan and vicinity and much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family.

H White was fortunate in landing a good haul of catfish, which brought him $103. Of all the fish in the lake these cannot be caught in the pound or gill nets and are crafty when surrounded by a draw net. The horns will cut the web and if a hole is made they all seem to know it.
