UYEHARA GEOGRAPHICAL RESEARCH

Okinawan language and culture is vastly different from that of mainland Japan. Ryukyu, as Okinawa is known, is comprised of dozens of islands some of which have unique cultures of their own. Our Uyehara family is from Yonabaru, a city on the southern beaches of Okinawa.
