Johannes Abel and Magdalena Ditlo were married June 6, 1780 in Frederick, Maryland. Johannes and Magdalena had three children: Daniel, Elizabeth and Johannes Jr.  Elizabeth died soon after her fourth birthday. We have no information about Johannes Jr.  Their brother, Daniel Abel/Auville, married twice. His first wife was Anna Hochwaerter, and after Anna passed away, Daniel married Susan Hatfield.

In 2004, the Auvil.com website was no more. This site contained the research of many Auvil family genealogists and contributors. When we were first beginning the search for our ancestors, the site was an awesome find and an invaluable resource. So I contacted the owner of the site, Catherine Auvil, and she sent a package containing the contents of the former Auvil website. It's been an interesting exercise imagining the logistics of incorporating one website into another. Hopefully, this attempt will prove to be a graceful and seamless integration of the old with the new.
