Will of Jonathan EAMES , a butcher

In the name of God Amen I Jonathan EAMES of Dorchester in the County of Dorset Butcher, being sick and weak but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding thanks be given to Almighty God, do take this opportunity to make my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)

First: I will and direct that all my just debts lagacys and funeral expenses be paid and after payment thereof I give bequeath unto my loving wife my leasehold tenement called the Hole in the Wall situated in Dorchester in the County of Dorset.

And: All my estate and interest therein to hold to her executors, administrators and assigns in trust nevertheless to and for the only use benefit and behoof of the child or childrenwith which my said wife is pregnant and may hereafterbe delivered of if more than one share and share alike

All the rest: residue and remainder of my personal estate of what nature or kind soever (I having no real estate) I give and bequeath unto my said loving wife whom I hereby constitute and appoint executrix of this my Will and doe hereby make void all former Wills by me at anytime heretofore made

In witness whereof I have unto set my hand and seal the Twenty Seventh day of January one Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Seven

Genealogical Notes:-

(1). Jonathan EAMES was buried at St Peters Church Dorchester on 31st January 1747

(2). Jonathan is a beneficiary under his fathers Will (See The Will of Thomas EAMES dated 29th Dec 1742)

(3). Although his wife is not named Jonathan EAMES of Dorchester married Mrs Rebecca ELLIOTT at Upwey on 5th January 1746
