Note:- Ebenezer states in various census returns that he was born in Dorchester but I have not managed to locate a baptism. In the 1861 Census he states that he came from Winfrith Newburg in Dorset and there was a labourer David and his wife Jane READ who had children later in that parish who may well have been his parents. By 1891 Ebenezer was living in Pilton Shepton Mallett Somerset where he was the driver of a portable engine. By 1901 he was the Farm Bailiff at Cumhill Pilton. Ebenezer and Charlotte are known to have had at least the following children :- (1) Anne Jane bap Buckland Newton 7th July 1861 (where his wifes name is incorrectly recorded by the parish priest as Mary) She was buried at Fordington St George Church aged 5 years on 26th June 1866 (2) Christopher Henry GRO 2nd qtr 1862 Ref 5a/356 (3) Charlotte Alexandra GRO 4th qtr 1863 Ref 5a/333 (4) Kate Victoria GRO 4th qtr 1865 Ref 5a/319 (5) Augustus Lawrence GRO 2nd qtr 1865 Ref 5a/344 not baptised until 29th Aug 1869 in Christchurch West Fordington (6) Anne Jane GRO 1st qtr 1867 Ref 5a/343 (7) Minnie Mary GRO 2nd qtr 1869 Ref 5a/339 bap 29th Aug 1869 Christchurch West Fordington (8) Clara born Dorchester c 1872 (9) Nelly Rose bap 25th Dec 1873 Osmington (10) Ebenezer Bap 26th Dec 1875 Osmington (11) Emily born Osmington c1878 (12) Frederick born Puddletown c 1882 (13) Beatrice Maude born Ilminster Somerset c 1885 (14) Margaret born Bath Dec 1890.

His body was returned to Cerne Abbas however for burial which took place on 10th July 1905.

We would like help from other members of the family to identify individuals, the assumption being that these are mainly the children or close relatives of Simeon and Jane Scard.
