Rev Henry Moule (1801-1880)

Apart from being Vicar of Fordington for 51 years he was the inventor of the 'Dry Earth Closet'. He published his surmons and used the proceeds to build a church for the soldiers at Fordington Barracks which he named 'Christchurch'. His dedication to the sick and dying during the two major outbreaks of cholera in 1849 and 1854 endeared him to his parishioners.
