Also finished redoing the Marriages page.

Sunday, January 24, 2010
Added Marriage Documents for Benton, Morgan, Smith, Burkhardt, Gearson, & Risener. NOTE: I'm also reworking that marriage page, so even if you don't see a name listed as having marriage documents, go ahead and check the surname list lower down the page. Some of the documents are linked there instead of at the top. Eventually, all the documents will be linked from those surname pages.

Friday, January 15, 2010
Added Sources for Adams & Pettigrew.

Also added grave stone photos for John Templeton Wallace, Elizabeth J. Wallace, Nancy A. Wallace and Sam Wallace. All these photos were shared by Jimmy Wallace. What a wonderful thing to do, and his work is very much appreciated!

Added new photos for Richard McDaniel and Nancy Steel McDaniel. Several years ago, Lynn Banard Risener and Shirley Bogart Harper undertook to have the original photos enhanced, and have graciously allowed me to share them with you. Thank you, ladies! The photos are on the McDaniel photo page. Click on the thumbnail of the original to see the new and improved version.

Updated the Brick Walls page to reflect that we no longer believe John Wallace of De Kalb County, Alabama was the son of William Wallace of Union County, South Carolina. Jimmy Wallace of Alabama did some hard work, and ultimately disproved the theory. It was a big disappointment, as William's family was very well-documented in county records. Jimmy plans to give his findings to the genealogical society in Union County, so if William is your line, you'll have Jimmy to thank for going back several more generations. Now, if we could only find out more about John...

Lynn Risener has also shared the Revolutionary War pension application for Warner Metcalf, as well as Elizabeth Kilpatrick Metcalf's widow's pension application. Links to these images can be found on Warner's military page.

New as of February 7. 2004:
The Risener Timeline has been updated. Did you know Riseners were in this country as early as 1693? Go see what Lynn's found out!

New as of September 9, 2003
The Riseners are one of the hardest families to trace in genealogy for several reasons. The name was rarely spelled alike two times in a row; they weren't wealthy and so didn't leave a lot of wills and estate records; and they lived in areas that were pretty much frontier lands without a lot of worry about official documents, etc. To better help understand this elusive family and to try and make some sense of their comings and goings, Lynn Risener has put together an excellent tool for Risener research. Visit The Risener Timeline and see all the known documentation of the family since 1700. If you can add anything at all to this timeline, please feel free to e-mail me or Lynn. Perhaps we can finally find out which members of today's Riseners belong with which Reisner who came over from Holland. Thanks to Lynn for this wonderful timeline and her willingness to share it here!

New as of August 28, 2003:
I'm doing a major overhaul of the graphics, since I was tired to death of all that green and lavender. It will probably take a week or two to get everything changed to the new look, so if you hit a page that looks jarringly different, just bear with me until I get caught up.

New as of August 12, 2003:
I'm trying something new with the format of the Photo Gallery. Hopefully it will give you an idea of where certain individuals fit into the Family Tree. I've started with Wallace Photos. See what you think.

New as of August 2, 2003:
