Robert Davis of Plano died Friday, Dec. 23 at Copley Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1910 in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Mr. Davis was united in marriage to the former Julia Brown on Sept. 3, 1938, at the home of her parents in Millington.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Plano, and their Friendly Class. He was active in the Senior Citizens FVOAS. Robert Davis was in the senior bowling and the State of Illinois Senior Olympic Torchbearer. He was a gold and silver medalist in the Senior Olympics held at Northern Illinois University. He was also in the Golden Harvesters and their Kitchen Band. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Mount Hebo, Oregon.
Mr. Davis was employed by Federal Huber Company in Plano for over 40 years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Davis of Plano; his three children, Marjorie Ann (Ralph) Gearson of Plano, Gerald Alan (Paula) Davis of Yorkville, Carole Jean (Richard) Latham of Newark; grandchildren, Ralph Fredrick (Cathy) Gearson, Jr. of Earlville, Susan Lynn Coppes of Seattle, Wash., Trina (Daniel) Wennmaker of Aurora, Tara (Jeffrey) Warren of Oswego, Amy (Michael) Markland of Sandwich, Heather (Patrick) Newberry of Marana, Ariz., Matthew, Robert, Alisha, Kendarius Latham all of Newark; great-grandchildren, Sarah Jean and Sean Micheal Gearson of Sandwich, Tyler and Anthony Newberry of Marana, Ariz.; three sisters, Alma (Irving) Busker of Rockford, Margaret Tyler of Janesville, Wis., Veda (Vernon) Wald of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brother, Virgil and Bernard Davis; and one great-granddaughter, Kristen Markland.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 24 at the United Methodist Church of Plano with the Rev. Thomas Kingery officiating. Interment followed in Millington Cemetery in Newark.
Visitation was at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 20 North Hale, Plano on Friday, Dec. 23 and until time of funeral on Sat. Dec. 24 at United Methodist Church of Plano.
