CHARLES H. SMITH DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER

Charles H. Smith, aged 64 years, died last evening at 9:30 o'clock following and illness of several months. However, he had been confined to his room only about ninety days.

Mr. Smith was a native of McLeansboro, Ill., and moved to this state 25 years ago. For a number of years he resided in the northern part of this city, but for the past few weeks had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Noah Clyne, on East Court street.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Smith, three sons, Lawrence Smith of Truman, Ark., R.L. Smith, 759 North second street, and the younger son, Earl Smith, also of this city. 2 daughters, Mrs. Lilly Morgan of Route 2 and Mrs. Noah Clyne of this city. One brother, John H. Smith of Whittinton, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Susan Hunt of McLeansboro, Ill., also survive.

The funeral service will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Clyne on East Court street. Rev. J.L. Shelby, pastor of the East Side Methodist church, will officiate. Interment will take place in Linwood cemetary.
