There are multiple sites that state Peter and Sarah were both quakers and their marriage date of 14 Apr 1795 in Frederick Co Maryland but I contacted the repository of Quaker Meeting Notes and the only mention of their marriage was on 19 Apr 1792 when Sarah and her sister Mary had attended the meeting on the purpose that both had married to men who were not members of the Society of Friends and they were married by a paid minister...because of this they were a disowned. Several months later on 18 August 1792, both Mary and Sarah Harrison apologized for not marrying according to the Rules of Quaker Discipline. Their acknowledgement of wrong-doing was accepted and both Sarah and Mary were welcomed back. There was no mention of marriage dates since they were not supported marriages. I have no idea where those dates came from or if they are even correct but they did not occur within the Society of Friends. Another thing...Mary's marriage date as listed on Ancestry of 18 Aug 1792 is also incorrect as she was already married by 19 Apr 1792 when she was disowned by the Society.
This information was sent to me via email when I contacted them regarding some type of proof of Peter and Sarah's marriage date. I have not been able to find any proof of their marriage. If it was by a paid minister, it should have been recorded by the state. I am wondering sinch Sarah and Mary both married Harrison men who were outside of the Society and Sarah's parents were Quakers...including the fact that her mother Patience had also dealt with marrying a man who was not a member of the Society...that the girls eloped with their prospected husbands because they were not allowed to marry them...meaning the marriage could have occured in Pennsylvania [closest to them] or Virginia.
