| Poughill World War I Memorial |
St. Michael and All Angles
A stone carving above the entrance of Poughill Church commemorates those that served
in World War I and also the three that lost their lives. Its presence serves to
remind us, that from only a very small parish, there were quite a few men who
fought in this war.
Below is a transcription of Poughill's dedication... in memory of those that served
in the 1914 - 1918 War and of those that sadly never returned home...
This tablet and flagstaff was erected by
parishioners of Poughill in memory of the men of this parish who gave
their lives in the great war 1914 - 1918.
