Alice FERRIS appears to have been a relative of the ROADWAY family,
born around 1859 at St. Pancras, Middlesex. She was the niece of George ROADWAY,
who I think was the brother of Louisa's father John. In the 1881 census
she appears at 12 Henrietta Villas in Bathwick, Somerset and was staying
with her Uncle and Aunt, George and Mary Ann ROADWAY.

Alice left her mark in Louisa's Album in the October of 1885, by writing into
the album an untitled piece that initially I thought could have been written by
Charles Fingsley. However, I have been advised that there was an author
called Charles Kingsley born at Holne in Devon in 1819, so Alice most probably
copied part of or one of his works.
Charles Kingsley was born in 1819 at Holne in Devon and was the son of the
