William Floyer of Berne HouseWilliam Floyer of Berne House, Dorset (1617 - 1680) William married his second cousin, Margaret Lawrence; by her, he is ancestor of the Floyers of Horncastle, Northampton and New South Wales. By his second wife, Elizabeth Mainwaring, he is ancestor of the Floyers of West Stafford and the Floyers of The East India Company. Scanned from a photograph in the collection of Mark Floyer. The original of this painting was stolen from its owners during 1999. A reward is being offered for its safe return. If you have seen this painting, please contact the administrator of this website.

Stafford HouseStafford House, Dorset was the home of a branch of the Floyers until the death without issue of George William Floyer in 1927. Sir John ShoreSir John Shore, First Baron Teignmouth, 1751 - 1834, Governor General of India 1792 - 1797, married Charlotte Cornish, daughter of James Cornish and Margaret Floyer. Their son, Frederick John Shore, married his first cousin Charlotte Mary Cornish (daughter of George Cornish and Sarah Kestell). Louisa Sara, daughter of Frederick John and Charlotte Mary, married her third cousin Ayscoghe Floyer, thus creating a double line of descent for the Floyers in this line.
Charlotte CornishCharlotte Cornish, Lady Teignmouth, the daughter of James Cornish and Margaret Floyer, and wife of the above Sir John Shore. Born September 11, 1759 in West Teignmouth, Devon, died July 13, 1834 in Sussex Place, London. From the collection of David Cornish Floyer.
