The aim of this site is to present the genealogy of James Paterson, M.D., and his son, also James Paterson, M.D. The father (1789-1866) was an army surgeon latterly serving in South Asia and retiring to Edinburgh. His eldest son James (1808?-1881), was a physician and professor of midwifery at Anderson's University, Glasgow.
