Record

The two boys pictured above are two of our boys fighting for Uncle Sam somewhere in France. Ellsworth MITCHELL is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel MITCHELL of Railroad street. He is a brother of the late Jennings MITCHELL who gave up his life while rescuing men at the Aetna Chemical explosion at Oakdale, May 18, 1918. Jules MONGOLD is a son of Mrs. Eugene CHIEZE of Barr street. He was decorated with a war cross for bravery in the Chateay Thierry sector early in June. Both boys are only nineteen years old. They enlisted in July of 1917 and were assigned to Co. I., M. G. B., 7th Regiment Infantry, then at Gettysburg. They spent the winter at Camp Greene, Charlotte, S. C., and were sent overseas early this spring, and are now doing their share. Seageant[sic] MITCHELL received his appointment since arriving in France.
