Mrs. KUNKLE’s 82d Birthday Party

Mrs. George KUNKLE entertained at six-o’clock dinner in her home in Magnolia street on Sunday evening, the occasion being the 82d birthday of Mrs. Ellen KUNKLE. The tables were tastefully decorated in yellow and white and flowers for the centerpieces. Twenty-four guests were seated. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Earle ESPY and children of South Heights, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jenkins and son Patty (sic), Miss Yvonne LEFEVRE of Midway, Harry MILLER of Canonsburg, Charles BERTHOLD, Jr., of Oakdale. Mrs. KUNKLE received a large number of gifts.

Celebrated 85th Birthday


Mrs. A. C. FARRAR of West Middletown celebrated her 85th birthday last Saturday. In honor of the occasion members of the family and their children gathered at the FARRAR home for a dinner that noon. Mrs. FARRAR received many cards and flowers and personal greetings throughout the day from her numerous friends.

Mrs. FARRAR located in West Middletown 34 years ago with her husband, who has been dead for a number of years, and they conducted a general store for many years. The store is now managed by the couple’s son Homer. Mrs. FARRAR has one daughter, Mrs. Mary SPROWLS, at home, and four sons, Roy, formerly of McDonald, but employed at Morganza, I. B., at home, and Donald and Homer, who live in West Middletown with their families.

All the members of the family were present for the birthday dinner Saturday except two grandsons in service, Andrew, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy FARRAR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy FARRAR, who is in Australia, and Donald, Jr., son of the Donald FARRARs, who is stationed at Fort Monmouth, N. J. Also absent were Mr. and Mrs. Ashley FARRAR and children of Boston, Mass. Ashley is another son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy FARRAR, and until last spring he and his family were residents of McDonald.
