February 21, 1952 Mrs. ROHDE, the former Katherine EISENHEIMER, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George EISENHEIMER, who will be 77 years old on August 29, came to this country from Germany at the age of seven. When she was 16 she and her family moved to Midway. Mr. ROHDE, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad ROHDE, was born in Etna and came to Midway with his parents at the age of three. He will be 87 on December 10. He and Anna EISENHEMER were married February 18, 1892, by the Rev. W. J. Graham, at that time pastor of the Center U. P. church, Midway [Pa]. Mr. ROHDE was a coal miner until nine years ago. He was then employed by the Midway Borough for several years. The couple has been lifelong members of the Midway Baptist church, of which Mr. ROHDE has been a trustee and Mrs. ROHDE a deaconess for many years. Mrs. ROHDE was also a Sunday school teacher most of her life. Present to help celebrate the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. William DILLON of Clairton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert JACKSON of Weirton, W. Va., Mr. and Mrs. Thomas COX of McDonald, Miss Martha ROHDE, and George, Helen, and Martha Shirley WINDSCHEIMER. The dining table was centered with a bowl of cut flowers and wedding
and anniversary cakes flanked the centerpiece. The honor guests received
a number of gifts, cards and a sum of money. Mrs. ROHDE had been
confined to her home for several years due to a broken hip sustained in
a fall. |
| March 6, 1952 McDonald PA Record-Outlook LOCAL COUPLE TO OBSERVE 50TH ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. George COTTLE of Gladden Heights will observe their golden wedding anniversary on March 7 and will celebrate the occasion on Saturday, March 8, with an open house to be held from 2:00 till 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The COTTLES have resided in McDonald during their entire married life. Mr. COTTLE was born and reared here and Mrs. COTTLE came to this country from France at the age of eight. |
