Our Fitzpatrick DNA

In March 2004, a descendant of Patrick Fitzpatrick and Anna Bergin participated in the Fitzpatrick DNA Study.

His DNA results matched the DNA of one other participant in the study. These results indicate that there is a 50/50 chance we will find a common ancestor with that participant in the past 6.5 generations. Because the odds are 50/50 at the 6.5 generational history, it is important to remember that our common ancestor could be further back than 6.5 generations; however, we certainly hope the results will give us new leads into our Fitzpatrick ancestry!

His DNA results were also within one or two matching markers of many other people in the study, indicating that we probably share ancestors with them around the 16th generation or further back.

As we compare notes with the matching participants, I plan to update this page.
