OBITUARY: Birdella Fitchett
LOS BANOS - Funeral services were held in Mission Chapel of Ivers and Alcorn in Merced today for Mrs. Birdella Phyllis Fitchett, 53, who died in a local hospital Thursday.
Mrs. Fitchett was born and raised in Merced and had resided here for 3 1/2 years.
She leaves her husband, Arthur Fitchett, 1526 Fourth St.; two sons, Dr. Delbert Fitchett of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Maj. Donald J. Fitchett of Livermore; her mother, Mrs. Hazel Bacon of Reno, Nev.; a brother Adelbert Wescott of Cupertino, and five grandchildren.
After honeymoon resided at 1036 19th St.

OBITUARY: Arthur Fitchett, 81 - Lifetime Merced County Resident
Los Banos -- Arthur L. Fitchett, a lifelong Merced County resident, died Monday in Los Banos Community Hospital. He was 81.
Mr. Fitchett, who worked for many years with the Production Credit Association in Merced and Los Banos, was a descendant of early pioneer ranchers in the county. His mother, Alma Crandall Fitchett, daughter of Dr. Perry Crandall, was born in the McSwain district of Merced.
Mr. Fitchett moved to Los Banos in 1966 and lived there until his death. He was a charter member and past officer of the Elks Lodge of Los Banos. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Fitchett, in 1991, and his first wife, Birdella Fitchett, in 1969. Survivors include two sons, Delbert Fitchett of Bethesda, Md., and Donald Fitchett of El Cajon; a sister Edna McConnell of Merced; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Friends may call today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel with the Rev. Morgan Berry leading the service. Burial will be in Merced District Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Merced-Mariposa Chapter, P.O. Box 1325, Merced 95341-1345.
