Sale of the Anderson farm in Ohio 1889

This is the courthouse record of the sale of land in Troy Township, Athens County, Ohio. William Anderson and wife to John T. Rowland. The land was purchased by the Andersons 19 years earlier in 1870 and their three children, William John, Joseph, James and Dora were born on this farm in Ohio. In 1889, it appears that William became ill. Dora, who was then 8 years old, had to leave school to help care for her parents and the family sold their holdings in Ohio and moved back to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to be near their families.
