In 1891, a second Oklahoma land run made the unassigned lands of the Sac & Fox, Pottowatomie and other Indian tribes available for claiming by the swiftest homesteaders. Robert Jason Neely first applied for a homestead in this area in 1893. Why this occurred two years after the land run is difficult to surmise. Perhaps he purchased a homestead from a successful participant or just decided to keep the claim and make it good. They had 10 years to make the necessary improvements and "prove" their claim. At the end of the 10 year period, with all requirements met, Robert Neely was given clear title to the land. Here are images of the original documents.
