The church met and after praise and prayer 1st the moerator being absent Sidney BUTLER was chosen moderator protem. The following resolutions drafted by James W. HILL and Samuel MALCOMB read and adopted and that the Deacons constitute a board of finance to carry out said resolutions 2nd Whereas at the regular meeting for business on the 1st Saturday of Feb. 1859 this church agreed to raise funds to defray all necessary or incidental expenses on the advalorum system. Now therefore, it is hereby further agreed that for the purpose of carrying out the above system of raising funds the church shall select three emembers and they and their successors in office shall constitute a board of finance whose duty it shall be 1st to ascertain the probably amount of funds necessary to defray the current expenses of the church for the year. 2nd ascertain the total No. of male members and the amount of taxable property held by each.

The church met and after praise and prayer 1st Received a comnmunication from certain brethren living three miles south of Lening, Scott County, at a place called Hebron for aid and council in the constitution of a church at that place on the last Saturday . In answer thereto we the church agree to their aid Elder Wm. B. LEWIS and Wm. LEWIS. Also, one from certain brethren and Sister living in the neighbohood of Byfield’s Schoolhouse for the same purpose and on the same day. Elder Thomas HILL and James FOWLER and Joshua DEPUTY were appointed to go there each to meet on the last Saturday in the present month (July) at eleven o’clock. 2nd Dismissed by letter Brother Daniel RECTOR and Sister Jane RECTOR, his wife. HALL ... was taken up and brother Joshua TIBETS was appointed to see him and let him know that his case will be acted on at the next meeting. 2nd Heard a complaint against Sister Susan FOWLER and Brethren Aaron SCOTT, Sidney BUTLER appointed to see her and report at the next meeting. 4th The church voted her disaprobation to the practice of plays and dancing and then adjourned.

* Susanah Burton2 was the daughter of Susannah Chaney and William T. Burton. When William died, Susannah1 moved with her 5 children to Paris Crossing and she, Susannah Burton1, joined the church in 1835. Her mother was Susannah Hill who married John Chaney.
Benjamin Robbins rafted down the Ohio River from NY in 1836 with his second wife Mary. Benjamin and Mary Rob(b)ins joined the church in 1837. Mary died in Nov 1838. Benjamin Rob(b)ins married a third time to the widow lady Susannah Burton1 in 1839. Susannah Chaney/Burton/Robbins died Sept 1852. The daughter Susanah Burton2 was dismissed by letter in 1855 just before they moved to Davis County Iowa. (Thanks to Lanny A. Robbins for this information.)
