This is appears to be a
telephone switch room some time around 1907-1910. The
individual standing behind the man seated is is Charles H.
Schumacher. Until August 1908 he lived in Bellingham, Washington.
As of that month he lived in Iowa and attended Iowa State College
at Ames. The other two men are unidentified..
This is Mrs. Sylvia Miller inside the
Bradley, Illinois Post Office in July of 1901. Mrs. Miller was
secretary or assistant to the postmaster, Edward C. Schumacher.
These are two shots of the town of
Sibley, Illinois taken in the early or mid 1880's. The top
photograph is basically the whole town including the Sibley Hotel
also shown in the second image
This is a photograph of the Cropsey
Illinois Railroad Depot. Considering the number f men in the
photograph and the train, this may be the opening day of the depot
or possibly a holiday. Probably taken around 1885. My Great
Grandfather, Edward C. Schumacher probably is the man in the
center holding a flag, standing next to the depot door.
This is a sceneof a small lake or
pond near Potomac, Illinois. Taken in 1903. Notice the water
fountain. The three children in the background are unidentified.
They are likely grandchildren of Henry L.Terpening. He had a farm
near Potomac at that time.
