Inez Bass Williamson 95, of Lucama died Wednesday at WilMed Nursing Care Center. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Coley Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Contentnea Church Cemetery. Elder Donald P. Price will officiate.

Surviving: daughter, Elaine W. Lamm and husband, Maurice H., of Goldsboro; three sons, Donald H. Williamson and wife, Edna A., of Kenly; Ivey E. Williamson and wife, Marlene A., of Arizona; Danny R. Williamson and wife, Lisa, of Florida; special sister-in-law, Dorothy Bass of Wilson; eight grandchildren, Linda Gerard, Marcia Stoneman, Lisa Lamm, Randy Lamm, Kimberly Foster, Angela Fortson, Craig Williamson and Krista Williamson; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Needham Bass, Marvin Bass, R.A. Bass and Roy Bass.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at Coley Funeral Home.

Margaret Tomlinson Barnes

Oct. 26, 1916 -- Oct. 9, 2007

ROCK RIDGE -- Margaret West Tomlinson Barnes, of Rock Ridge, died Oct. 9, 2007. She was born on October 26, 1916, to John R. and Annie Clyde West of Wilson.

Due to the serious illness of their mother, Margaret went to live with her mother's sister, Mrs. Bette Dawson of Eureka. After the death of her Aunt Bette, Margaret was returned to her parents home at age 15 and lived there until her marriage to Jonathan Tomlinson.

She was predeceased in death by her husband Jonathan Tomlinson in Oct. 1937, who was the father of daughters Linda and Johnanna. She was married to James W. Barnes II on April 1948, who predeceased her on June 20, 1986, and was the father of James Wesley Barnes III, Mary Margaret Barnes Kuhn and Elizabeth Stanton Barnes and stepfather to Linda Tomlinson Pavitt and Johnanna Tomlinson Graves.

Additional survivors of Mrs. Barnes are her grandchildren Elizabeth Sammons and Mary Neal who are daughters of Johnanna and B. W. Graves II; James W. Barnes IV and Johnathan P. Barnes who are the sons of James Wesley; Sidney E. Kuhn and Rachel A. Kuhn, who are the daughters of Mary Margaret and David Kuhn; and James Geis, son of Elizabeth Barnes; and one great-grandson, James Sammons, son of Elizabeth and Jamed Sammons.

Mrs. Barnes is also survived by two sisters, Mary Lee Owens and family of Harrisburg, Pa., and Serena West Albarano and her family of Duncansville, Pa.. and James J. Clark of Florida. Mrs. Barnes was predeceased by her sister, Sally West Clark Tomlinson of Wilson and her brother, John Bardin West, also of Wilson.

Mrs. Barnes' children wish to acknowledge the caregivers, for their kindness and devotion during their mother's illness, and the expert care each provided for their mother. They are Rosa Coleman, April Hester, Diane Hester, Gina Harvey and Joyce Best-Lloyd. Each was very important in the care and safety of our mother.

The family will receive friends at their home.

Graveside services will be held at Marsh Swamp O.F.W. Baptist Church in Rock Ridge on Friday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ray Wells officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marsh Swamp Church.
