Welcome to the FERGUSON Ancestors' Attic!

Hi! My name is Patricia Gerkin and I have been researching my roots for a couple of years now and find it a very exciting (and compulsive) hobby. In the beginning, all I wanted to do was to print a nice family tree of about 4 generations, but something happened.

The changes are subtle at first, when you realize you are finding yourself spending more and more time in search of that elusive ancestor(s). You do strange things like spending countless hours in a musty library or chasing around the country copying inscriptions from tombstones in overgrown cemeteries.

What got me started down the road to researching my roots was a family history manuscript started by my mother in 1992. She started by writing out notes, birth and death dates, etc. after she was contacted by a distant cousin who was researching the "
SWIFT" family line.  He and my mother generously contributed much of the information on these pages and to them I am extremely grateful.

The main purpose of this page is to provide access to the information to family members.  It is hoped that they both enjoy the information and provide new input and corrections to the existing database.

I hope you enjoy exploring my pages, and hopefully, discover a connection to my ancestors attic.  Since there is still a great deal we don't know about these families, I hope you will let me know about any additions or corrections you may have, or find in the future. You can send information easily by using my new Family Group Sheet Form .  If you have questions or comments, send me an email; or leave a note in my guestbook just to say HI!  I would love to hear from you.
