Additional notes from Beverly Crawford.

The information I have indicates that William Fellow died in
1798 in Sampson County.  Susannah Blackman died on 2 March 1837.

From Sampson County, NC court minutes, I have determined that William
Fellow died in 1798.  According to court minutes dated 12 Feb. 1799, the
children were all still minors.  Susannah Fellow recommended Josiah
Blackman (her brother-in-law as well as brother of her future husband
Joab) as guardians of the minor daughters:  Nanny (Ann), Olive, Polly,
and Ester.  The minor son John Fellow (you are correct) chose Stephen
King as his guardian.

A subsequent minute dated 11 Nov 1801 indicates that the minor child
"Easter Fellows" was deceased and her guardian Josiah Blackman asked for
administration of her estate.

The John Crawford family moved to Hardeman County, TN in the 1820's
(still trying to pin down year) and they are listed in the 1830 census
for that county.  John is not shown in the 1840 census, but Ann is.
The working dates I use for John are 1770?-1839?, but I would like to refine them.
For Ann Fellow Crawford, I use the dates 1790?-1846.
Both died in Hardeman County are arepresumably buried there, but I can't find
any documented burials for them.

They had eleven children (but only nine are listed in Susannah
Blackman's
will--Alexander and Susan are not listed--Susannah acknowledged in
the will that she might not be remembering all the names).

-- William F. Crawford    28 Jan 1808 - 19 Dec 1878

William was probably born in Rutherford County, TN.  John's father
Lazarus (1745?-1818) who was born in Old Dobbs (Wayne County) resettled
in Rutherford County, TN soon after 1800 (Revolutionary pension bounty
land?). Several of his children moved with him.   Both Lazarus and John
are in the Wayne County, NC census for 1800, but they both are in the
Rutherford County, TN census for 1810.  (John's household shows one male
child under 10).  By the 1820 census John and Ann were back in NC in
Johnston County.  It appears they returned to NC as early as 1813 since
they are shown on the tax rolls for Johnston County (on land previously
owned by Susannah Fellow.)

William died in Hardeman County and is buried in Wyatt Cemetery there.
This is my line -- more information on family below.

--    Eliza Crawford    ?-?

    married Henry Stephens.

It is strange that there is both an Elizabeth and an Eliza in the
same family, but both are mentioned in Susannah Blackman's will.
Elizabeth was called Betsy.  Eliza was referred to as Eliza Stephens, so
she was already married by 1837.  I find one reference to Henry Stephens
(Stevens) in the 1827-1829 Hardeman County Court Minutes where John
Crawford, Raiford Crawford (his brother), Henry Stevens, and John
McKinnie (John's brother in law) were jointly sued for a debt.

--    Isaac W. Crawford     7 Jan 1813 (Johnston County, NC --according
to his tombstone) - 28 Oct 1873 ( Wyatt Cemetery, Hardeman County, TN)

married Sarah S. Lillard (1820-1889) in 1846 n Hardeman County and
had 5 children.

--    Susan F. Crawford     ? - ?

married John R. McKinnie in 1830 in Hardeman County; married
Joseph Sellers in 1840.

--    Elizabeth Ann Crawfod (1815? - ? )

married Willoughby L. Thompson in 1837 in Hardeman County.

--    Olive M. Crawford    ? - ?

married Solomon Jacobs in 1838 in Hardeman County.

--    Nathan Crawford     ? - ?

        no information on him

--    Ashley R. Crawford     1823 ( JoCo, NC) - 1895 (Lonoke, Arkansas)

married Elizabeth Ward in 1848 in Hardeman County.  At least one
child.

--      Alexander James B. Crawford     1826 ? (JoCo, NC?) - ?

married Cynthia Williams in 1852 in Hardeman County.

--    Temperance Evaline Crawford    1826 (TN?) - 1891 (Wolfe City, TX)

married William B. Faison in 1846 in Hardeman County and had 4
children.

There is DAR membership established through this line since both
Lazarus Crawford and William Fellow are considered patriots by the DAR.
I got information on her through the DAR records.  Temperance is a
common name in some Crawford families.

--    Franklin A. Crawford    1832 (Hardeman County, TN) - ?

In August 1844, there is annotation in the Hardeman County Will Book
that Ashley, A.J.B., Temperence E., and F. A. were still minors and Ann
Crawford was appointed guardian for them.  Based on this, none could
have been born earlier than about 1823.

My greatgreatgrandfather William F. married Martha Ann Ward (1829-1892)
on 22 May 1845 in Hardeman County.  They had seven children:

--    John R. Crawford    1846 - 1896  (my greatgrandfather)
                        (Hardeman County for both)

married Sarah Baker in 1869 and they had 4 children.

--    Sarah A. Crawford     1848 -1933
                          (Hardeman County for both)

never married; lived with her brother John R. and help raise my
grandfather after his mother Sarah died the same year he was born.

--    Daniel A. Crawford     1850 - 1903
                            (Hardeman County for both)

married Elizabeth King in 1881 and had 6 children.

--    Margaret Crawford     1853 - 1938
                           (Hardeman County for both)

married W. W. Anthony in 1874 in Hardeman County; second husband was
John F. Jenkins.

--    Mary Ellen Crawford    1854 - 1938
                            (Hardeman County for both)

married Jonathan Cooksey in 1877 and had 2 children.

--    Albert Bell Crawford    1862 - 1942
                            (Hardeman County for both)

married Sarah Frances Johnson in 1890 and had 11 children; married
Nina Webb Vreeden in 1934.

--    Timothy Clay Crawford     1866 - 1904

married Sarah C. ? and had 3 children.
