According to the book, Some of the Ancestors and Descendants of Samuel Converse, Jr, Volume 1 p. 117, Otis Converse (# 655) was born on December 4, 1796 in Spencer, MA.    the son of Reuben and Pamela Stevens and one of several siblings, of whom 6 were born in Spencer, 3 in Leicester. This information is said to come from the Spencer MA vital records.
1811 in Leicester, a reference to a guardianship; he would have been 15.
1822 In November was appointed to the Baptist church in Grafton as supply.
1823 Was ordained as regular pastor of the Baptist Church on June 25, 1823.
