This was on the 17th day of September A.D. 1848 at her father's house in the town of Pierpont, Ashtabula County State of Ohio, they were married by Elder Dodge, now dead, my relations have been such with the claimant that I know she was not married before she married Merritt Fay, and since his death she has not remarried to my knowledge. The only other living witness to said wedding that I know of is Emily Follett.
I further declare that I have no interest in said case and am not concerned in its prosecution and that this statement was dictated by me and read over by me before signing.
