     Samuel Alexander Tombs was born on 28 December 1828 at Bowling Green, Pike County, Missouri.¹ He was the son of David Love Tombs and Louisiana Bayse. Samuel Alexander Tombs married America Susan Whitledge on 22 March 1855 at Bowling Green, Pike County, Missouri. Samuel Alexander Tombs died on 12 August 1904 at Bowling Green, Pike County, Missouri, at age 75. He was buried at Concorde Cemetery, Bowling Green, Pike County, Missouri, On July 20, 1851, a group of 22 men and women established a church, following the beliefs of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and named it the Macedonia Church. It was located southeast of Curryville, and southwest of Bowling Green. One of the names on the original charter was Agnes Ann Tombs, a daughter of David L. Tombs, and an early resident of the rural community southwest of Bowling Green. The first building was made of logs. On April 3, 1874, it officially changed its name to the Concord Church. After fire destroyed the original church, a new one was erected on the same site and was dedicated July 4, 1889. Prior to 1954, Mrs. Perry A. Tombs was a leader of a children's organization called the "Little Light Bearers".

In October 2004, a visit by Shirley Tombs Jennings of California, and Bruce Jennings of Oregon, found that the church building had been taken down and a granite plaque had been erected. It stated the following: "DEDICATED TO THE CONCORD C. P. CHURCH, FOUNDED JULY 4, 1889, Presbytery Honored Merger Effective Jan. 1, 1983".

The cemetery, which would hve been direcgtly behind the church, still exists and is well kept with a fence around it. It has many very old tombstones and included in it, is the early TOMBS plot of graves, located nearby and under a very large tree. This cemetery is located on Rd. 482.

     Sina Tombs was born circa 1809 at Chester County, South Carolina.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of David Tombs and Sina Sharp.¹ Sina Tombs married Lemuel Jackson Branstetter, son of Adam Branstetter and Rachel Snavely, in 1843 at Pike County, Missouri.¹ Sina Tombs died after 1870 at Verona, Lawrence County, Missouri.⁴ She was buried at Kilby Family Cemetery, Missouri.

     Bertha Totten was born on 23 November 1891 at Fulton County, Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Totten and Laura Irene Fate.¹ Bertha Totten died on 18 August 1892 at Fulton County, Illinois.¹ She was buried on 18 August 1892 at Baughman Cemetery, Cass Twp., Fulton County, Illinois.²

     Curtis Totten was born on 23 April 1881 at Fulton County, Illinois.¹ He was the son of Alexander Totten and Laura Irene Fate.¹ Curtis Totten died on 3 July 1887 at age 6.¹ He was buried on 3 July 1887 at Baughman Cemetery, Cass Twp., Fulton County, Illinois.²

     Esmerelda Totten was born on 3 September 1848 at Smithfield, Fulton County, Illinois. She was the daughter of John S. Totten and Barbara Baughman. Esmerelda Totten died on 29 May 1938 at Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at age 89.

     Grace Irene Totten was the daughter of Ross Carey Totten and Carrie Miranda Crick.

     John S. Totten Jr. was born in 1872 at Illinois. He was the son of John S. Totten and Barbara Baughman. John S. Totten Jr. died on 28 March 1906 at Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.¹ He was buried on 29 March 1906 at Smithfield, Fulton County, Illinois.¹

     Lela Verl Totten was born in 1913 at Missouri. She was the daughter of Ross Carey Totten and Carrie Miranda Crick. Lela Verl Totten married Cecil Everett Wright, son of Ira C. Wright, on 5 June 1936 at Green Valley, Tazewell County, Illinois.

     Michael P. Totten was born in 1850 at Illinois. He was the son of John S. Totten and Barbara Baughman.

     Opal V. Totten was born on 23 May 1912 at Hume, Bates County, Missouri. She was the daughter of Ross Carey Totten and Carrie Miranda Crick. Opal V. Totten died on 29 March 2008 at Colorado at age 95.
