Anna Estella Fate was listed as wife of Charles Lewis Irwin on the 1910 Census Cass Twp., Fulton County, Illinois, on 19 April 1910.
Obituary of Anna Estella Fate appeared as follows: Mrs. Anna Irwin, wife of Chas. Irwin, died Sunday afternoon about 3 o'clock after a lingering illness lasting a year of better, from tuberculosis. Her health had been gradually failing for some time and last spring, in the hope of benefitting her, Mr. Irwin sold off his stock, rented his farm and took her to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Like most sufferers from this disease, she improved for a time after changing climates, but soon grew worse again and then came home to try treatment by physicians. Three months ago, or more, it was realized there was no hope for her, but she refused to give up and was hopeful to the last. Anna Fate was born May 24, 1879, a daughter of Martin and Mary Fate on the old Fate farm just south of town, now owned by J. E. Rector. In 1895 she married Charles Irwin, and to them was born one son, Earl, a young man now in high shcool. Besides the husband and son she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Knock, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Estella Gerber, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Mrs. Carrie Rector, Mrs. Mary Joachim, Mrs. Emma Irwin, and George Fate of Smithfield, and Chas. Fate of Abingdon. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor Rev. E. F. Morton, and burial was in the local cemetery.
