In 1722, Thomas bought 40 acres from Daniel Auston between the land of Stephen Barker and John Gutterson . Thomas's land was bounded by the Merrimack on the south and the highway on the north. This area still part of Haverhill at that date (Essex Deeds 40;139).

Thomas's wife, Hannah, died in December 1749 in her 55th year (Methuen p335). He probably remarried: the death of a Thomas Richardson, husband of Esther, is reported on October 22, 1761. He was said to have been in his 64th year (Methuen p335), which corresponds to Thomas's birth date.

In 1764, Thomas (Jr.) sold to Joseph Griffin ten acres of land bounded by that of Griffin, Andrew Whittier, the Merrimack River, his own land, and the highway. His wife Elizabeth also signed the deed. (Essex Deeds 132;55).
