Son, William, 100 acres which I bought of John Alin, it being the place where I dwell. Son, Benjamin, 114 acres, where he lives, which I bought of William Gardner. Son, David, 5 shillings. Son, Richard, 5 shillings. Daughters, Martha Bell, 5 shillings. Daughter, Amy Fancher, 5 shillings. Wife, Martha, the rest of my moveable estate. Executors - my beloved wife and my beloved friend, William Griffin. Witnesses - William Hopkins, Jr., Abigail Pen (S/B Pew, also spelled Peu), Rachel Harker. Proved/Probated Nov. 12, 1764. Taken from “Copy of Sessions No. 1 in Suffolk County Clerk’s Office 1669-1684” No. 98-99, Pages 88-89.

At a Court of Sessions held at Southold and begun the second day of June 1680 The Last Will and Testament of William Fancy of Setauk, deceased wch was proved at the Court of Sessions held March 8th 1677/78 was at this court produced and alsoe an inventory of the Estate under the hands of two Apprizers, named Nathaniel Norton and Wm Jayne sworne the 31th day of May 1680 Before Mr. Justice Wodhull Justice of the peace at the request of the widow Catherine Fancy (expressed to this Court under her hand Peter Whitteere) Shee the said Katherine is admitted by this Court to all Intents and purposes sole Executrix of the said Will, and Estate of her said deceased husband Shee being to p forme what an Executor ought to doe, according to the Lawes of this Government in that case provided.
                                                                    Brookhaven June 17: 1675
I, Wm Fancy being very Aged and a Cripple Doe make this my last Will and Testament. First I bequeath my Soule to God in Jesus Christ, and my body to bee decently buried in the buriall place in Brookhaven; My will and meaning is That my Sonne Samuell Fancey shall have half my accomodation. That is on halfe my home lott and seaven ackers in the ould field and one halfe of all the out land divided and undivided, and one halfe of all my meadow at the ould mans and all my pt of meadow and upland in ye ould purchase at the South. All this one halfe I bequeath to my sonne Samuell Fancey after my Decease except onely all my meadow at Conscience I reserve wholly for my wife. All this I bequeath to my sonne Samuell upon Condition that is, my sonne is not to sell any pt or p'cell of the same, But my will and meaning is that my wife shall have the whole Dissposeing of all ye rest of my whole Estate within Dores & without except twenty shillings I bequeath to sonne Joseph Fancey. Alsoe my will and meaning is that my sonne William Fancey shall receive his portion after the Decease of my wife Katherine Fancey. I alsoe bequeath to my daughter Hanah Fancey too Cowes or ten poundes to bee paid her when shee comes to age or marry. As for my daughter Rechell shee hath received all her portion allready. I now being very weak in my limes, yet thanks be to god fresh in sences and memory. Desireing that this being my last will and testament may stand and be brought forth to light, when it please god to call mee to his protection.  

I Comit my poore soule and poore wife and all my Children to the protection of ye Almighty God in Jesus Christ whose able to save all that come unto him. My Desire is alsoe that my nebar Martha Smith shall keep this my last will as long as I live

In the name of God Amen I John Fanshier of Poundridge in the County of Westchester and State of New York being in good health and perfect memory blessed be God (here for) I this first day of Feby in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following Viz I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me and my body to the earth from whence it came in hope of a joyful resurrection through the merrits of my Saviour Jesus Christ and as for that worldly estate where with it has pleased God to bless me with I dispose therewith as follows Viz first that all my debts and funeral expences be paid xcItem I give and bequeath unto my sons John, William Nathaniel David, Joseph Daniel and Elijah Fansher all my lands and buildings thereon to each and every of them an equal share or proportion and also I give unto my afforesaid sons all my moveable estate except two cows and one heifer to be equally divided among my afforesaid seven sons Viz each of them an equal part xc Item I give and bequeath unto my three daughters Viz Abigail Unice and Marcy two cows and one heifer to be equally divided among them Viz that is to each and every of them an equal proportion also I give and bequeath unto my afforesaid three daughters all my beds bedsteads and furniture belonging to said beds to be equally divided between them Viz to each an equal proportion xc Item I give and bequeath unto my abovementioned seven sons Viz John William Nathaniel David Joseph Daniel and Elijah all my undivided lands lying in Poundridge to be equally divided among them xc xc xc Item and furthermore it is my will that an equal part of the debts which I owe shall be deducted out of the portion which I have given unto my afforesaid three daughters in manner and form following Viz that my debts be first paid and then that an equal dividend be made and each of my seven sons and three daughters afforesaid pay an equal part of my such debts in proportion to what I have given unto each of them my afforesaid sons and three daughters xc Furthermore I make and ordain my beloved sons John and William Fansher to be my lawful Executors of this my last will and testament with full power to sell any part of my lands to make clear (?) estate if the moveable is not sufficient therefor and do declare this to be my last will and testament making null and void all former wills heretofore made by me In testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written
