Jackson Honored On 76th Birthday at Tolar
The children and friends of Mrs. N.O. JACKSON [nee Mary Louise WOOD]
met at her home near Tolar Sunday, September 1, to celebrate her 76th
birthday as a surprise. Many nice presents were given the honoree
and an eloborate luncheon served during the noon hour, picnic style. /
Mrs. JACKSON is the daughter of the late D.M.
WOOD, who came to Texas in 1869, settling near Rock Church.
She was married to N.O. JACKSON, son of Andrew JACKSON, who came to
Texas from Georgia in 1859, settling near Rock Church in Erath county
on March 2, 1876. Mr. and Mrs. JACKSON moved to Tolar 35 years
ago, where they reared a large family.
Her children present were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. A.C. JACKSON and
four children, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. WRIGHT and two children, Buena and Ida
JACKSON of Tolar; Mr. and Mrs. T.A. WEEKS and seven children of Lamesa;
one grandson, Emery JACKSON, and family of Bluff Dale; one
granddaughter, Mrs. Paul MAYO, and family of Whitesboro; and another
grandson, O'Neal JACKSON, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. THOMASON, Mr. and Mrs. S.E.
THOMPSON, Mr. and Mrs. D.A. BROWNING, Mr. and Mrs. J.O. HAUGHTE and two
sons and daughter, all of Tolar.
