Mrs. Joe LOCKHART was called to the bedside of her grandfather, Andy JACKSON, near Bluff Dale last Saturday. He died Tuesday [Sept 4] at 11:00 a.m., aged 78 years. He had been a citizen of Erath since 1856, being one of the first who settled on the Paluxy.

Mr. John R. JONES, age 81 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dollie LONGACRE, at Dallas last Thursday, November 11, 1915. / Funeral service was conducted at Rock Church cemetery last Saturday with Masonic honors. / Mr. JONES was an old citizen of Hood county, having come here in 1859, and has been actively identified with the best interest of the county during all these years. In an early day he was an official of the county, having served as tax assessor, county commissioner and perhaps in other capacities. / He is a brother of Mrs. J.L.C. LONG of Granbury. Mr. and Mrs. LONG attended the funeral last Saturday as did also Mr. and Mrs. W.S. WILSON of this city.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Jackson Held Rock Church — Funeral rites for Mrs. Mary Louise JACKSON, 76, who died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at her home near Tolar, were held at the church in Rock Church community Sunday afternoon, May 31, at 2:30 oclock, under the direction of Trewitt Funeral Home of Stephenville. Rev. Henry PRICE conducted the services assisted by Rev. Paxton SMITH of Tolar. / Pallbearers were E.R. COLLINS, Jack KENSON, J.C. SHOVER, Jack FISHER, Elmer BLANTON and Davie BARHAM. Burial was made in the Rock Church cemetery.
Mrs. JACKSON had lived near Tolar for the past 65 years and was living at her home southeast of that city at the time of her death. She was a devout member of the Methodist church with which she united early in life. / Survivors are her husband, N.O. JACKSON of Tolar and the following children: Luther JACKSON, Midland; Edward JACKSON, Stayton, Ore.; Clyde JACKSON, Tolar; Joe and George JACKSON, Fort Worth; Thomas JACKSON, McCamey; Misses Buena and Ida JACKSON, Tolar; Mrs. Elizabeth WRIGHT, Stephenville; Mrs. Naomi WEEKS, Lamesa.

Orz JACKSON died at his home Monday [July 29] about 11:30 o'clock. He had been ill for several months and his death was not unexpected. The following children survive: Mrs. Lizzie WRIGHT of Stephenville, Ed JACKSON of Oregon, Mrs. Naoma WEEKS and Luther JACKSON of Lamesa, Mrs. Beaune GRIFFITH and Clyde JACKSON of Tolar, George and Joe JACKSON of Fort Worth, Miss Ida JACKSON of the home. Mr. JACKSON had been a citizen of Tolar for many years. He was a member of the Methodist church and in his younger days took an active part in all church work. Funeral services were held at Rock Church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. W.C. HARRELL, pastor of the local Methodist church of which Mr. JACKSON was a member. Burial was in Rock Church cemetery beside the grave of his wife who died a few years ago.

Mrs. Rosa Ann Baker
Mrs. Rosa Ann BAKER, 81, was buried at Rock Church Sunday afternoon following her death at the Stephenville Hospital at an early hour Saturday morning [Jan 10]. She had been in failing health for several years and her death, although expected, was a distinct shock to members of her family. / Last rights were in charge of Rev. Randel RODGERS, Rev. Ferrell ODOM and Rev. WHITES. Ewell JONES, of the Stephenville Funeral Home, completed all arrangements. / Pall bearers were R.B. CARAWAY, O.E. ELLIOTT, Claude MANLEY, W.C. COWAN, Pete WINN and Hub GAITHER. / Surviving are three [sic] children, Mrs. Pernie JEFFREY, Stephens, Minn.; Mrs. B.W. VOGT, Memphis, Tenn.; O.E. BAKER, Lubbock, and Mrs. J.D. RENFRO, Bluff Dale. All were present for the final services.
Hood County Native / Mrs. BAKER came from one of the pioneer families of the Paluxy Valley, being a native of Hood county. In early life she was married to the late W.B. BAKER, first maintaining a home at Rock Church but later moving to Tolar where they lived for some years. However, they went back to Rock Church where they established their last home. Mrs. BAKER has lived all her life in Hood and Erath counties and had a background of knowledge of the early days of this area that few possessed. She was a devout Christian character and held membership in the Methodist church for a long period of years. Her husband was for many years one of the most public spirited men in Hood county and held many positions of prominence in the churches and schools. / Evidence of the high esteem in which Mrs. BAKER was held was the large group of friends and neighbors up and down the Paluxy Valley who attended the final rites. The floral offerings were profuse and the eulogy by all ministers was high in praise of her character and standing. / The last illness of Mrs. BAKER in the Stephenville Hospital was such that she never responded to treatment of attending physicians. Her last moments were said to have been quiet and peaceful.

Mrs. Maud Eugenia Mulkey
Mrs. Maude [sic] MULKEY, 83, a native Texan and resident here [Fort Worth] 35 years, died in a hospital Monday [Dec 10]. She had been ill since February. / Mrs. MULKEY, who lived at 605 Woodrow, was born in Collin County [sic] and came here from Paluxy, Hood County. / She was a member of the Baptist Church at Paluxy. / Survivors are a son E.S. (Buster) MULKEY of Fort Worth; seven daughters, Mrs. Joe JACKSON, Mrs. Pearl CARAWAY, Mrs. W.H. KETCHUM, Mrs. George JACKSON, Mrs. Raymond ACUFF and Mrs. Juanita CHAVEZ of Fort Worth and Mrs. W.M. RILEY of San Angelo; a sister, Mrs. A.N. MEADERS of Dallas, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. / Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Robertson-Mueller-Harper Chapel with Rev. Wilson CANAFAX officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Rock Church Cemetery near Bluff Dale. / Pallbearers will be her grandsons, David MULKEY, Richard JACKSON, Eugene CARAWAY, James CARAWAY, J.E. RUSHING and Roland GATEWOOD, all of Fort Worth.

"We are sending you a copy of the obituary on my great-grandmother, Maud Eugenia Ethridge Mulkey.
She was the second child and daughter of William Spencer and Margaret Jane (Meek) (Day) Ethridge. She married Richard Cleveland Mulkey
and they are buried side by side at Rock Church Cemetery. I do not believe that she was born in Collin County,
but at Paluxy in Hood County [on] October 25, 1873."
