Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Perry Funeral Home
chapel for Roy Morris, 89, Luverne, who passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, at his residence. The Rev. Greg Locklear officiated.
Burial followed in Cherokee Memory Gardens. Perry Funeral Home directed.
Mr. Morris was a native of Hokes Bluff, the son of the late Jeff and Beulah Marker Morris, was a veteran of World War II where he was a Purple Heart recipient, was retired from the Civil Service and DOT of Florida and was a member of Fort Meade Church of God.
Survivors include sons, Ron (Wilma) Morris, Winterhaven, Florida, and Tom Morris, Kissimmee, Florida; daughter, Linda (John) Keener; daughter-in-law, Arlene Morris, Lakeland, Florida; brothers, George (Mary) Morris, Gadsden, Bill (Frances) Morris, Gadsden, and James (Frances) Morris, Hokes Bluff; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two stepsons; three stepdaughters; several nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Kim Wooten.
