John Barney Brock

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today, March 23, 2010, at Lebanon Church of Christ Cemetery for John Barney Brock, 88, Piedmont, who died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Attalla Health Care. Mr. Jimmy Kennedy will officiate. Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory directing.

Mr. Brock was a Cullman County native and was a member of Lebanon Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, worked as an auto body repairman for many years and retired from Gadsden City Schools as an auto body instructor. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Brock.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Wilma Brock; four children, Gary Brock (Dianne), Ashville, Sherry Kennedy (Jimmy), Piedmont, John Brock Jr. (Ruth), Ashville, and Jeff Brock (Deborah), Piedmont; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Flora Bishop, Cullman; and several nieces and nephews.
