It's probably human nature to dream of "Castles In The Air" ~ of wealth and wisdom, fame and fortune. No doubt many who go searching their ancestry hope to find at least one claim to fame and maybe even a fortune. This is Hohenzollern Castle in Germany, ancestral home of the family which produced Kaiser Wilhelm II. Was "Wilhelm" a surname or a given name? I've been told that it was a common given name like "Bill" or "Joe," but in our family it's a surname. Does that mean there's a connection between this castle and my family? And if there is, should I quickly catch a plane to Germany so I can claim my inheritance? Probably not ~ *smile*.




This is Charlemagne, king of the Holy Roman Empire and one of the greatest rulers ever to live. My cousin has traced our genealogy to him and beyond.

Am I impressed? Sure!
Do I admire him? No.

I have never found any indication that he and his Crusaders offered Christ to the unbelievers. They just killed the "infidels" for their unbelief. As far as I'm concerned, a man as cruel as that, who still claimed to be Godly, is just one more black sheep in the family! Had he left his descendents a fortune, I wouldn't even want his blood money.




Hmmm, what's this modest little picture? Oh, the word of God. I wonder what it holds for people like me? Forgiveness of sin? Eternal life? The love of God? Joy, peace and righteousness? Now that's majestic! And I get a mansion, too? Great! I'll claim that for my inheritance.
