FHL 1,289,439 Blair Co, PA Will Book Vol D p. 478-481:

 

   Last Will and Testament of Peter Biddle of the Twp of Woodbury.  In the name of God Amen. I Peter Bittle of the Township of Woodbury in the County of Blair and State of Pennsylvania. (Farmer) being in perfect health of body and sound of mind, memory and understanding but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit:

   It is will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon after my decease as the same can conviently can be done,

Then, I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Juliania all the household and kitchen furniture now in my house or that may be excepting the furniture and goods intended for my two daughters, Susan and Juliana. Also, I give my said wife the house and garden with the lot of ground on which the house stands and all the out houses belonging to the same for her use during her natural life.  Also I give to my said wife the privilege of so much of the Barn in said premises as she many want during her life.  Also, I give and bequeath to my said wife all the horned Cattle, Hogs, and Pigs.  I may have at my decease except the horses and colts.

   Then It is my will and I do order my executors hereinafter named to furnish and put in the Barn for her use as much hay as will keep two cows well each year during the life of my said wife. Also it is my will that my executors shall furnish a sufficient quantity of good fire wood ready cut to burn in a Stove or fire place for the use of my said wife each and every year during her natural life.

   Then It is my will that y said wife shall get the one half of the fruit each year of her life off the tract of land known as the "George Bittle tract", and also the one half of the fruit that may grow on the tract or piece of land I bought from Elizabeth Sorrick.

  Then It is my will and I do order my executors to pay to my said wife the sum of One Hundred and fifty dollars each and every year during her natural life in manner following viz. Seventy four dollars within three weeks after my decease. Seventy five dollars six month thereafter and Seventy five dollars every Six months thereafter during her life.

  Then I give and bequeath unto my son Andrew Bittle the farm or tract of land on which I now reside, except the privileges I have given in this my will to his Mother during her life, containing Thirty Nine acres more or less which I value at the rate of one hundred and five dollars per acre at which rate my said son Andrew Bittle shall pay his quote in caring out this my will.

  Then I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Juliania Boxxxx? now intermarried with Joseph Detwiller Five Dollars to be paid to her by my executors one year after my decease.

  Then I give and bequeath unto my Grand Son Jacob Boxxxx? the sum of Four Hundred dollars to be paid to him by my executors two years after my decease and in case of either one or both of said Grand Children dieing before arriving to the age of twenty one years then above named share or shares as the case may be divided between my Sons & Daughter share and Share alike.

   Then I give and bequeath to my Daughter Susan the Farm or tract of land I bought of George Bittle containing about Seventy one acres more or less, after deducting or taking off one field that I have sold to my Son John S. Bittle, which I value at the sale of Forty dollars per acre at which rate the said Susan shall pay to carry out this my will and testament.

  Then I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Juliana the tract or piece of land I bought of Elizabeth Sorrick containing forty four acres more or less and which I value at the sale of one hundred and twenty dollars per acre at which sale my said daughter Juliana shall pay to carry out this my will.

  Then It is my will that my sons and daughter shall have share and share alike of all my estate as given in this my will and if any my Son Andrew or my daughter Susan and Julian or any of them refuse to take the bequeaths made to them in this my will at the valuation made by me then and in that case it is my will that my executor here after named shall advertise the said tract or tracts of land so refused and not taken at my valuation and sell the same at Public sale to the highest and best bidder & after expenses & casts paid to divide the proceeds of said sale share and share alike between my sons and daughter.  The said sale to be made within one year after my decease.

  Then I give and bequeath unto my son John S. Bittle an equal share of all my estate with my other children, Andrew, Susan and Julianna.  I have two small tracts of Timber land and it is my will that my executors shall advertise and sell said tracts of Timber land for the best price they can get at public sale and the proceeds of the same shall be divided between my sons & daughter share and share alike and if I shall get more land it is my will that the same may be sold by my executors as the woodland & the proceeds divided share and share alike between my said sons and daughters.  The said woodland and any other of my property not mentioned or bequeathed in this my will to be sold by executors within one year after my decease.

  It is my will that my sons John S. Bittle & Andrew Bittle & my daughter Susan & Juliann shall pay their equal share in carrying out the bequests made to their Mother in this my will during her natural life.

  And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said sons John S. Bittle and Andrew Bittle to be the executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other will legacies and bequeaths by me heretofore made & declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament.

  In witness which of I Peter Bittle the testator have to this my will written on sheet of paper set my hand and seal the 29th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventy two.

Singed Sealed declared and published by the above name Peter Bittle as and for this last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

                  This 17 day of August 1881 before me Josf Hummer Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of Blair, personally came William Richardson one of the subscribing witnesses to the above will and being duly sworn according to law, did depose and say he was personally present and saw and heard Peter Bittle the testator sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his testament and last will that he signed his name in the presence and at the  request of the said testator and in the presence of the other subscribing witness and at the time of so doing he the said testator was of perfect and sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief.
