Asilee Jarriel Mallard, 84, died Aug. 9 (1999) at home. She was a native of Toombs County and a resident of Wayne County since 1945. She was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.
SURVIVORS: a daughter, Joyce M. Oakes of Odum; two sons, Tommy Mallard of Brunswick and Raymond Mallard of Aurora, Colo.; a sister, Daisy Solomon of Brunswick; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
VISITATION: 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday at Gordon-Harrison Funeral Home in Jesup.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Thursday at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, burial in New Hope Cemetery.

Sara Helen Upchurch Martin, 81, died April 7 (2001) at Bethany Nursing Center.
The Bulloch County native was a graduate of Georgia Teachers College. She was a retired teacher and had been a Sunday school director and English tutor for the Asian members of First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace, Fla. She was a volunteer at University Community Hospital of Tampa, and a member of Temple Terrace Garden Club. She was a member of Millen Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: a son, William H. Martin Jr. of Temple Terrace, Fla.; a daughter, Lee Ann Martin Wilson of Millen; a step-daughter, Patty Cox of Seminole, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Upchurch of Garden City and Calvin Upchurch of Las Vegas; two sisters, Christine U. Meade of Brooklet and Virginia U. Brown of Stilson; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. Monday in Millen Cemetery.

SWAINSBORO, Ga. --
Mrs. Nezzie McNeely, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Swainsboro Nursing Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home with the Revs. Gene Sego and Franklin Sasser officiating. Burial will be in Twin City Cemetery, Twin City.
Mrs. McNeely, a native of Twin City, was a homemaker and a longtime former employee of Twin City Manufacturing Co., and she had retired from Morgan's Department Store, Twin City, as a clerk. She was a member of Twin City United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Bobby McNeely, Swainsboro; two brothers, David Lane and Darriel Lane, both of Canoochee; three sisters, Verna Cannady, Canoochee, Johnnie Bennett, Twin City, and Vera Dunaway, Thomson; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cooper Henry, James Canady, Butch Brinson, Alan Best, John Willis and Wayne Scott.

Notes: Nezzie Lane was the daughter of John Martin Lane and Gertrude "Trudie" Bennett. She married Jordan McNeely.

Johnnie Bell Mincey, 82, died Jan. 23, 1999 at Meadow Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.
She was a native of Johnson County and lived most of her life in Toombs County. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was the
widow of Virgil (Eli) Mincey.
SURVIVORS: two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette Mincey and Bob Noble of Gray, and Louise Mincey and Dick Connor of Macon; two brothers, Lamar Powell of Lyons and Louis Powell of Vidalia; a sister, Eula P. Johnson of Lyons; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Swainsboro,Ga. - Mrs. Annie Moore, 72, of Statesboro died Friday (28 Oct 1977) in a Decatur nursing home after a short illness.
She was a native of Emanuel County.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Doye Collins of Jonesboro; two sons, Randolph Moore of Memphis, Tenn, and Edwin Moore of Altoona, Pa.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Twin City Cemetery.
Hunnicutt Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge.

Notes: Annie Newton Boatwright was the daughter of Alexander Newton Boatwright and Mary Annie Silvey. She was born on 7 May 1905. She married Walton Jordan Moore on 8 July 1923 in Emanuel Co., Ga.

Elmer L. Moore

SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Elmer Lee Moore, 81, died Dec. 25, 1998 at Swainsboro Nursing Home. He was a native of Emanuel County and a veteran of World War II who served in the Philippines Ground Forces Command. He retired from Sears as a technical instructor. SURVIVORS: his wife, Ruth Peebles Moore of Swainsboro; a son, Lee Moore of Swainsboro; and a granddaughter, Tracey Moore of Jonesboro. VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the time of service today at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary in Swainsboro. FUNERAL: 11 a.m. today at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary, burial in Swainsboro City Cemetery with military honors.

Mrs. Mary (Curry) Moore

Mrs. Mary Louise Moore, 84, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road, with Jerrod Scott Moore officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. Moore, a native of Adrian, was a homemaker and a member of Mize Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur P. Moore; a son, Mitch Moore Sr., Harlem; a daughter, Suzanne Echols, Augusta; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women and worked with her husband at their Metter Veterinary Clinic for 47 years. She was a member of the Bernice Lanier Circle and the Adult Bible Class. She was a former First Grade Sunday School teacher and a member of the Metter United Methodist Church. She was married to the late Dr. William "Billy" (Lynwood) Moore.

Virginia B. Moore, 75, died March 7 (2001) at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.
She was born in Savannah and lived in Appling County for the past six years. She was retired as head bookkeeper from W.T. Grants Department Store, Homestead, Fla., with more than 20 years of service. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: her husband, Frank J. Moore of Baxley; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Joe and Ann Moore of Center Hill, Fla., Ricky Moore of Scranton, Pa., Rodney Moore of Broussard, La., and Jeffery and Cheryl Moore of Bear Creek, N.C.; a sister, Nina Lee Helton of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Gene Boyett of Baxley; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dr. William L. "Billy" Moore, D.V.M., died Jan. 28, 2001 at Candler County Hospital.He was born in Toombs County and lived in Candler County since 1943. He was a member of Metter United Methodist Church and had served on the Administrative Board. He also was a member of Metter Masonic Lodge No. 435.
He was a graduate of Auburn University, Veterinarian Medicine, and practiced veterinarian medicine in Candler and surrounding counties for 47 years. He was a member of the American and Georgia Veterinarian Medical Associations.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Vera Massey Moore of Metter; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Gene Britt of Statesboro and Lynn and Jerry Pass of Atlanta; a sister, Parepa Akins of Covington; and four grandchildren, Trey Britt, Will Britt, Ashley Britt and Wes Pass.

Rosamond M. Moseley

VALDOSTA, Ga. -- Rosamond Miller Moseley, 87, died Aug. 5, 1999 at Fellowship Home.
She was born in Portal. She attended Wesleyan College and graduated from Georgia State College for Women at Milledgeville and the University of Georgia. She had taught in various public schools for 40 years, including in Georgia, Clyattville, Lake Park, Valdosta and Swainsboro; and in North Carolina, Pine Level, Meadow and Kenly. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and served on the Executive Committee of the Valdosta Teachers Federal Credit Union. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Annie Mae Walker Sunday School Class. She was the
widow of Floyd Moseley.
SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Betty Moseley of Valdosta; a sister-in-law, Helen Miller of Augusta; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta.

Leona Grace Newton, 94, died Tuesday (Nov. 14, 2000) at her residence under the care of her care givers and Ogeechee Area Hospice.
She was born July 3, 1906, in Jenkins County, the
daughter of Augustus Lane Newton and Henrietta Turner Newton. She graduated from Millen High School and obtained her bachelor of science degree from Georgia State College for Women in 1935. She pursued post graduate studies at the University of North Carolina and the University of Georgia and was awarded a master's degree in education.
A lifelong educator, she began her teaching career in Winston-Salem, N.C. She taught at Marvin Pittman School and Bulloch County elementary schools. In 1959 she was made curriculum director for Bulloch County and served in that capacity until her retirement in 1970.
Miss Newton was active in many professional organizations including the National Educational Association and Delta Kappa Gamma honorary society. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Statesboro, the Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution and the St. Philip's Parish Chapter National Society of the Daughters of American Colonists. She was a member of the Merry Weeders Garden Club of Statesboro. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, traveling and took great pride in her family.
Survivors include her niece, Ann McDougald Monk of Birmingham, Ala.; three nephews, A.B. "Al" McDougald Jr. of Statesboro, Gus L. Newton of Wilkesboro, N.C., and Tom J. Newton of Lodi, Calif.; several great-nieces, nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ira Parker Newton; and sisters, Corine Elizabeth Newton and Sidney Newton McDougald.
A private graveside service and burial will be held in the Elam Baptist Church Cemetery near Millen.Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Statesboro with Dr. John Bressler officiating.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 20 at the Union Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Norma Jean Thomas, Rev. D. R. Parker and Rev. Kelmer Durden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Trudie Johnson Oglesby of Millen; his son, Ronnie W. Oglesby of Millen; his daughter, April Renee Kea of Swainsboro; two brothers, Averitt Oglesby and Johnny E. AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Sara Roberts Oglesby of Augusta, entered into rest on Sunday, May 13, 2001, wife of the late Woodrow Oglesby.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2001, Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel with the Reverend Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Oglesby, a native of Swainsboro, Georgia, has resided in Augusta for 50 years, and was a member of Glenn Hills Baptist Church. S.H. Kress Company employed her for 16 years.
Mrs. Oglesby is survived her sons, Woodrow Oglesby Jr., Augusta, Billy Oglesby, Hephzibah; daughters, Mary O. Cole, Augusta, Laura O. Morgan, Jackson, S.C.; sister Viola Hatcher, Taledega, Ala.; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Doug Oglesby, Michael Oglesby, Chris Oglesby, Ashley Morgan, Billy Dyches. Mr. Oglesby, a native of Jenkins County, had retired from Fordville and Kelley Trucking. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Emanuel County Farm Bureau. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Turner Oglesby; two daughters, Patricia Boatright, Statesboro, and Tommie Jean Gambrell, Swainsboro; two brothers, Wallace Oglesby, Vero Beach, Fla., and Willie Oglesby, East Dublin; three sisters, Harriett Brinson, Vero Beach, Mildred Wells, Twin City, and Rosa Proctor, Millen; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donny Wells, Tway Wells, Earl Oglesby, Billy Oglesby, Tommy Proctor, Richard McNeely, Randy Turner and Julian Durden.

Lucile C. Oliver, 86, died on Sunday, Jan. 27 (2002) at Candler Hospital. The Tattnall County native was a retired office manager with Steel Erectors, where she had worked for over 30 years. She was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church and had attended Woodlawn Baptist Church.

She was a native of Screven County, a resident of Chatham County the past 66 years, and the widow of John Henry Peavy Sr. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth and Garden City Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 67.
SURVIVORS: a daughter, Barbara Roller of Port Wentworth; a son, John H. Peavy Jr. of Port Wentworth; a sister, Hilda Floyd of Roanoke, Va.; and seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Peavy, a native of Screven County, was a farmer and had retired as a security guard for Sylvania Spinning Co., BASF Corp. and the Torrington Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and deacon of Double Heads Baptist Church and a member of the Cameron Hunting Club.

Alma Rowland Bell Peebles, 84, was held Sunday, April 14, 2002, at 3 p.m. from Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Burial followed in Sardis Church Cemetery.
She died Friday, April 12, (2002) at Washington County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Peebles was retired from nursing at the Claxton Hospital in Dublin and was a member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by
her husband, A.J. "Ped" Peebles; her parents, John Mack and Mollie Jane Kersey Rowland; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son, Clarke Dalton of Dublin; one step-daughter, Carolyn Peebles Evans of Meeks; one sister, Alice Brady of Kite; and several nieces and nephews.
Her nephews served as pallbearers.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Phillips was retired from Lyons Manufacturing Company, a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husbands, Albert Phillips and Felton Mimbs.
Survivors: four daughters, Lois Spivey of Seffner, FL, Rachel Dampier of Port Wentworth, Tyra Kirkland of Lyons, and Betty C.
