Rorabaw Handbills

Rorabaw Handbills

This hand bill advertisement printed in 1904 promoted the Rorabaw's Healing Salve
made and sold by John William Rorabaugh and his father John Mitchell Rorabaugh.
John W's daughter Laura also helped sell the salve behind their wagon around the turn of the century, at the young age of 4. Laura would put her hands in the boiling mixture of the famous salve. The pitch was, "It won't burn a baby's finger!"

John Mitchell Rorabaugh's had this handbill printed with an "easier spelling" of "RORABAW" which he used along the Mississippi River, including a raft where he floated on the River itself with his family.
