The red shaded area shows where Reuss was located, it is shown here just north of Bavaria and only a few kilometers northwest of the Czech Republic. The red line is the old border which divided the East and West Germany before 1989. It also is the border between Germany and Czechoslovakia.
Lobenstein is the largest town near the small village of Schonbrunnn. It is located in the southern end of Reuss. Lobenstein was a popular spa town.
