The Workhouse
Situated at the top of Stow hill, the Workhouse is a building of stone & brick, erected in 1837, at a cost of £3,000, on a site given by Sir Charles Morgan bart.; in 1868-9 it was enlarged & additional land purchased at a cost; of £10,000, and since then a men's receiving ward has been added at a Cost Of £2,000; it is now available for 420 inmates
