Vivian Marie (Whiton) Barricklow

Madison Twp. – Vivian Marie Barricklow, age 83, of Madison Twp passed away Thursday June 28, 2007 at her home.  She was born September 3, 1923, in Fairfield, MI to Harley Bert and Orpha May (Lutton) Whiton.  On March 27, 1943, she married Merlin “Barry” Barricklow in Cadmus, MI.  He preceded her in death on Jan 25, 1987.  She attended Fairfield Baptist Church and the First Church of the Nazarene.

Vivian is survived by one son, Douglas Barricklow and his wife, Cathy of Jasper; two brothers, Harley Whiton Jr and his wife Mildred of Adison and Wesley Whiton and his wife Donna, of Adrian; one sister, Agnes Wotring of Hudson; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Arthur Whiton.

Funeral services for Vivian will be held on Monday, July 2, 2007 2 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor David Fulks officiating.  Burial will be in West Madison Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.  Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.

Ezra Nathan Daniels

ADRIAN — Ezra Nathan Daniels, age 91, of Adrian is now absent from the body but ever present with the Lord. He completed the earthly days allotted to him on Dec. 8, 2007, at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility, where he had resided since October.

He was born on May 12, 1916, in Whiteford Township to Orin and Elizabeth (Beck) Daniels. Ezra married Ellen Traub on Feb. 8, 1941, in Deerfield, Mich. Ezra spent the past 56 years farming and for many years raising cattle until his retirement at his Madison Township farm homestead.

Ezra was an active member of the Fairfield Baptist Church and through the years served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, and on many church boards. He had a special musical talent and became an accomplished saxophone player. He began playing the E flat clarinet at the age of 5 and for years played in city bands with his father and brothers. He frequently proviced special music for many churches and for special occasions in the community. In his later years, he enjoyed playing his saxophone at nursing homes and visiting with the residents. He had been a member of the Blissfield and Adrian Christian Businessmen Association for years. For many years he faithfully led church services and provided special music at the Toledo Rescue Mission and also participated in the church services at the county jail.

Ezra was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, four brothers and one grandson. He is loved and survived by two sons, Philip (Janice) Daniels of Texas and Gary (Letha) Daniels of Adrian; one daughter, Dawn (Michael) Eliott of Adrian; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ezra loved the Lord. His greatest desire was for no one to perish without knowing Jesus Christ as their Savior. He has passed the torch and will be greatly missed until we meet him again in heaven.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor Stephen Boley officiating. Burial will follow in the West Madison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Harold Junior Myers

ADRIAN — Harold Junior Myers, age 83, of Adrian passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, surrounded by his family.

Harold was born June 5, 1924, in Madison Township, the oldest son of Harold A. and Alma (Jasper) Myers. On Oct. 8, 1960, Harold married Arloa Filter at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Adrian. Arloa, his wife of more than 47 years, survives.

Harold graduated from Sand Creek High School with the class of 1942. He was a dairy farmer, often referred to as a workaholic. Known for breeding Holsteins, Harold had a wonderful gift of raising the calves. Harold was active in many organizations including Michigan Milk Producers, the Lenawee County Holstein Association and the Lenawee County Farm Bureau. He also served as a Madison Township Trustee and as a 4-H Leader. A lover of nature, Harold made time to take students on tours of the farm and woods area. He enjoyed gardening as well, growing both vegetables and flowers. Harold was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.

He was a kind-hearted and gentle man and everyone knew family was very important to him.

In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by two daughters, Dr. Diane Griffin and her husband, Britt, and Laura Myers, both of Adrian; two granddaughters, Nicole and Brittany; his brother, Merlin Myers and his wife, Shirley, of Adrian; four nieces, Denise Bailey, Mary Ann Conrad, Karen Carlson and Deb Edwards; and three nephews, Pastor Ed Filter, Harold Filter and Mike Filter.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Kirk Myers.

Funeral services for Harold will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Adrian with the Rev. Brian Keller officiating. Burial will follow at Hunt Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the Wagley Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, from 3 to 8 p.m.
