Rhoda “Rodie” Roberts Pickens.

Autry (Berwyn), Carter County, Oklahoma by William Dirks, minister of the
Church of God.

pro tem
“I became a member of the Calvary Baptist Church at an early
age. Was baptized in 1928 0r 29 I do
not remember the year. Went to Sunday
School and sang in church in Berwyn, Oklahoma.
Came to KCK in 1942. Joined
Bethel Baptist Church in 1949. Sang in
the Bethel Night Choir, Sunday School teacher and BTU (Baptist Training Union)
teacher. Became a member of the Eastern
Star, Adah Chapter #7.”
Her bible also does a brief genealogy of her parents,
grandparents, and great grandparents,
All records found by this researcher states that he parents of Edmond
Roberts was Ned Roberts and Sarah “Stevenson” Roberts, however my mothers entry
does not list Edmonds father’s name and the name listed for his mother is
“V(L)innie ?”.
Which leads me to a new Leaf or Branch to search. It has always puzzled me as to why Edmond
Roberts was the only child of Ned and Sarah Roberts that was enrolled in the Chickasaw
Nation. All of the other children were
enrolled in the Choctaw Nation.
I love her and still miss her, very much, after 40 years. Her Middle Child
