1.1. Robert Kirby (1662-1727)

Robert Kirby's birth and death are recorded in the Charles Parish registers. The births of his children also appear there. The register entries identify the mother of his eldest son, Thomas, as Mary. The 1704 will of Thomas Curson identifies Thomas Kirby as his grandson and Robert Kirby as his son-in-law (Proved 24 Mar. 1703/4, York County court). Mary (Curson) Kirby's burial also is recorded in the Charles Parish register. The mother of Robert Kirby's other children is identified as Catherine. The birth of Catherine, daughter of John and Elizabeth Clarke, on 1 Dec. 1672, is recorded in the Charles Parish register. Elizabeth Clark married Samuel Tompkins as her second husband.
