Frances Goff (54)
was born 23 July 1802 near Frankfort, Hancock County, Maine,
a daughter of John Goffe (49)
and Jane Gregston (50). She
moved with her family to the Pittsburgh area in 1817.
Frances married John Reeves Garrison (72) in Sewickly,
Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on 25 March 1825. John is a son
of James Garrison (1421) and Hannah Garrison (1440).
Together, John and Frances had four sons:
James W. (1350); Samuel T. (1348), who married
Jane ?; John Coston (186), born in 1 March 1830 and who married
Nancy Anna McCrea (192), born 5 April 1837; and Wesley
B. (1349)
John owned and developed some of the land
within the town of Sewickly; a triangle bounded by Beaver, Division
and Fife Streets. He is also largely responsible for establishing
a permanent presence of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Sewickly.
Frances died 5 February 1873 in Alliance,
Ohio. John died in 1866 in Alliance. They are buried in Alliance
City Cemetery in Alliance, Stark County, Ohio.
