"Morton and Their Kin" by Daniel Morton.

In an article about the Caldwells, he mentioned an article from the Republician Banner

in Nashville TN in 1868, together from John C Calhoun for whom a copy was made, and from

a scrap book by Gen Andreww J Caldwell of Nashville.

"A memorarandum of Hugh Caldwell, late of Rotetourt. The first mention of an account of

any person bearing the name of Caldwell. It mentions an Oliver Caldwell in Carlisle Pa in 1754.

It goes on to tell of the silver cup. Oliver cam over with his brothers from Ireland in 1754.
